Inter-varsity Human Rights and Public Speaking Competition is held annually. Strathmore University Debate Club happened to take the day in this competition. The year’s championship was themed “Poverty and Human Rights. It intended to engage the students in an organized competitive debating and public speaking environment where they reflect on the plight of people living in poverty and what links it has on human rights related issues. Strathmore university team of debaters showed its dominance from the beginning to the end. John Mureithi emerged the best debater and was awarded for his exemplary style of proving his points. On the public speaking competition, Kassam Elvis received an award for being the third in this category. It was a fair and just win for Strathmore. More details are found on:
